Cowboy Monkeys Return to Indy at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Classic
Team Ghost Riders Cowboy Monkeys have thrilled audiences around the world with their Border Collie riding and sheep-herding skills.

(Indianapolis, IN)  -  The O'Reilly Auto Parts Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Classic is returning to Indianapolis on Friday & Saturday, January 8 & 9, 2010 at 7:30pm in Conseco Fieldhouse. The O'Reilly Auto Parts PBR Classic will showcase some of the most promising rising stars of the PBR, riding alongside fan favorites and veterans, as all the competitors face-off against the most famous bucking bulls in the industry.  The Touring Pro Division offer upcoming bull riders the opportunity to compete in PBR sanctioned events, while earning money to qualify for the PBR's elite Built Ford Tough World Finals presented by Wrangler.

Kids will point and giggle and the crowd will break into applause when they see three tiny cowboys intently riding and their loyal and agile steeds; rounding up a small herd of sheep.  These aren't just any cowboys though, they are the capuchin monkey sheepherding team known world-wide as Team Ghost Riders.   These cowboy monkeys, "Mega," "Bubba," and "Dakota," will mesmerize the crowd with their dog-riding cowboy antics.

By all appearances, they love their work.  During the performances, the faces of the Team Ghost Riders are a combination of tight concentration and confident nonchalance as they and their border collie buddies ride careen around the PBR arena.  First they make maximum speed and the monkeys lean into the wind as their border colli's dash toward the herd of wild Barbados sheep.  "Mega," "Bubba," and "Dakota," seem to be a tiny version of the Wild West Show trick horse riders who have thrilled crowds since the days of Buffalo Bill.  Then the cowboy monkeys & their trusty steeds screech to a halt as their Border collies assume the pose of a classic shepherding dog, keeping the errant sheep under control and herded into a corral.  It's the work that cowboys have performed for generations.  It's just that it's so much more fun for the crowd to watch when the work is done by capuchin monkeys named "Mega," "Bubba," and "Dakota," atop their faithful canine companions, "Ted," "Dog," and "Spot."

Team Ghost Riders, under the tutelage of their trainer Ted "Wild Thang" Lepard, have performed at rodeos, in television commercials, and at special shows all over the world.  Lepard has been involved with bull riding & rodeo for over 30 years as a bull rider himself and with various rodeo specialty acts including bull fighting and Team Ghost Riders.
