After six hard-fought weekends at the 2009 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals® Series, Scoles finishes first with a big margin of victory.

(INDIANAPOLIS)  The bright yellow "Trail City 4x4" modified tough truck driven by Raymond Scoles of Butler, OH won the 2009 Mickey Thompson Tough Trucks Challenge season points championship.  Scoles piled up his season-best points total at six competitions held as part of the 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals® Series that began in Springfield, MO in early May and then visited Lima, OH; Springfield, IL; Bloomsburg, PA; and Essex Junction, VT before wrapping up September 18-20 in Indianapolis, IN.  Finishing second for the 2009 Mickey Thompson Tough Trucks Challenge season was Mark Noto of Collins, NY in his "Super Truck".  There was a tie for third-place season points between Sonny Dohrmund of Davenport, IA in "After Burner" and Adam Blankenhorn of Mt. Vernon, OH in "Mid Ohio Geo Thermal".  Rounding out the top five in championship points was Ron Peterson of Andover, MN in "The Bandit".

The modified Mickey Thompson Tough Trucks Challenge features high speed acceleration, tight-turning, obstacle jumping, power sliding, and hard braking over courses designed to put the durability and performance of these 4x4 vehicles to the ultimate test.  Racing against the clock, Mother Nature, the twists and turns of the race course, and each other; these modified Tough Truck competitors provide crowd-pleasing entertainment for the thousands of spectators who attend the 4-Wheel Jamborees.

There was realignment at the top of the championship for 2009. Last year, Sonny Dohrmund dominated the competition and Scoles finished out of the top 10.  Mark Noto, moved up to second place from seventh last year. Neither Blankenhorn, nor Peterson finished in the top 10 last year.
