From all-out mud launches to high-flying handlebar-to-handlebar duels, wild, four-wheeling ATV's will add adrenaline to 4-Wheel Jamborees.
(INDIANAPOLIS) ATV's will be featured at four weekends devoted to all things 4x4 in 2009. Officials of the NMRO (National Mud Racing Organization) have published rules allowing competition among open-class ATV's in mud-drag racing at 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals events in Lima, OH; Bloomsburg, PA; and Indianapolis, IN. In addition, extreme pro quad racing over a course of dirt jumps and tight turns known as "Quad Wars" will be staged at 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals in Bloomsburg, PA and Essex Junction, VT.
NMRO Open-Class ATV's will debut at the 24th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Spring 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals® May 15-17 in Lima, OH.
NMRO Mud Drags run in a mud pit course from 100 to 200 feet long depending on the venue. Classes ranging from sportsmen in stock 4-wheel drive trucks to full-fledged, alcohol burning, purpose built "rail" dragsters take on the course with the fastest classes often making runs of less than 2 seconds. From a standing start, the mud flies and spectators hold their breath as these drivers and machines launch. Competition is staged in a bracket format. Eric Rowles, commissioner of the NMRO released the ATV Open Class rules which set forth the eligibility and safety policies for the new class of racing. Rowles said, "We expect that the ATV/Quad open class racers will add some real interest for competitors who have never raced with the NMRO before and especially for the spectators in the stands. With these riders hanging on, exposed to all the mud and elements, the fans will be able to see just how tough it is to negotiate the course for a win. It's going to be fun!"
"Quad Wars" featuring Extreme Pro Quads come to Bloomsburg and Essex Junction.
The 22nd Annual Summer 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals® will roll into the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds in Bloomsburg, PA on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 10-12, 2009. Featured at this year's event will be highly-modified 400cc and up Quads set up strictly for racing. On board will be some of America's top professional quad riders who will compete in "Quad Wars". The riders ranging in age from 18 to 45 take enormous risks as they go flat-out handlebar to handlebar over huge jumps in the tight-turning obstacle course. Competitors are broken into teams and winners from each of a series of heats move on to the always-wild main event. At Bloomsburg, Ulf Becker, President of East Coast Extreme is going to captain "Team Pennsylvania". Becker said: "I am heading to Bloomsburg with one goal-get Team Pennsylvania the win over Team New York and more than anything I want to get back the number "1" plate for my quad. I've been on top, and it's sweet. And this year, I'm going to kick everybody's butt to get back there. The fans are going to see a real war with action like never before."
"Quad Wars" will head to New England for their second appearance in 2009. The Bond Auto Parts New England 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals® comes back to the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds in Essex Junction, VT on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 & 2, 2009. Once again, the course will swarm with the teams of Quad Wars competitors. At Essex Junction, spectators can expect to see the extreme quad action ratcheted up even another notch as the season moves forward. This Vermont Jamboree is back after a hiatus in 2008; so the addition of the exciting Quad Wars will add even more to the celebration of the event's return.
The Quad Wars riders who will be competing at the 4-Wheel Jamborees compete both nationally and in pro-class events in their local districts.
